At Emirates American School (EAS), our kindergarten program is rooted in a student-centered learning model that places each child at the heart of the experience. Our students engage in independent learning by selecting activity centers based on their preferences, followed by structured rotations to ensure a well-rounded experience. Through a balanced mix of play-based and structured activities, we support the development of essential foundational skills. Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to integrate 21st-century including critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication.
At EAS, our kindergarten curriculum is carefully crafted to cater to the developmental needs of children aged 3 to 5 years. We employ a comprehensive, play-based approach that balances academic learning with social, emotional, and physical development. Our curriculum is aligned with the American Common Core State Standards, ensuring a robust educational foundation while incorporating elements of the UAE's cultural and moral values. Our areas of focus includes:
English, Math, Science, and Arabic help children build strong early foundations in language, numeracy, curiosity, and communication from their earliest years.
Islamic Studies, Art, Music, and P.E. support children’s creative expression, cultural understanding, and physical development in a playful and enjoyable way.
Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and Academic Excellence nurture confidence, independence, and essential life skills that guide children through their early learning journey.
Ongoing assessments help teachers understand each child’s progress and provide the right support at the right time, ensuring steady growth through the Kindergarten years.
Our Kindergarten program aims to achieve the following learning objectives:
Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills through interactive and hands-on learning experiences.
Develop strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to express ideas clearly and confidently.
Promote self-awareness, empathy, and positive relationships with peers and adults. Children learn to manage emotions and develop a sense of responsibility.
Enhance fine and gross motor skills through structured and unstructured physical activities.
Install an appreciation for Arabic values and UAE heritage while embracing global cultures and traditions.
Our early years learning spaces include the music area, messy play, sensory & experimental zones, mind-challenge & community helper corners to support all-round development.

Perspectives from our students and parents
To EAS family and community, I would like to thank the EAS community for quickly adapting to the sudden transition online following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic to facilitate classes and continue to conduct business as usual. In my opinion, teachers have risen to this challenging condition to continue facilitating our kids’ learning using different computer-enhanced and innovative pedagogical strategies. Complementing the efforts of management and teachers, EAS administrative and technical staff have also demonstrated an outstanding level of dedication by discharging their duties diligently using appropriate technological tools. Well done.
